Maricar is a warm, welcoming presence who puts our baby at ease. She's great getting our little one to sleep in the bassinet, and is a calm presence in our home. She offers helpful advice, like learning how to differentiate our baby's cries and methods of relieving our baby of tummy gas. We know we can get a full night's sleep when Maricar cares for our little one at night and we're always happy to see her. Having Maricar come to our house and help out for the first few weeks with our newborn was such a lifesaver for me and my husband. It was so nice to have someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and dependable to be able to assist us during a crucial time in our baby's life. Maricar would keep notes so I felt very aware of the times our son woke up, how much he ate, etc. Additionally, she was a great resource for all tips and tricks -ideal baby bottles/pacifiers, massage techniques and so much more. The services provided by Along Came a Doula made a massive difference in helping our family transition to having two children. Perhaps most importantly, Maricar is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and calm. In addition to being skilled at caring for babies and mamas, she has a wonderful way of instantly making you feel comfortable and supported. Not only did she help us get longer, better stretches of sleep, she helped make my time awake significantly less lonely. She also taught us different ways to help comfort our little one and select a bottle and pacifier type that would best support her needs. At the end of each night, Maricar would send us a recap of the evening and include helpful videos, reminders, and words of encouragement. Looking back on those early weeks, Maricar's help significantly lessened the fog and stress, improving my mental health and ability to enjoy my time with new baby. I cannot recommend her services enough and know I will always look back on this time with gratitude for her expertise and care; I only wish I had known about them when I had my first! While there are many things that can make caring of a baby easier, I cannot think of anything more impactful than the services from Along Came a Doula! -Christie D
Words cannot describe how amazing Maricar is! She supported my baby and me postpartum and I truly don't know if I could have survived without her. She knew exactly what my baby needed, giving her tummy massages when she was gassy, foot massages to relax her, and baby carrying to comfort her. Her knowledge and experience in all things baby related is so impressive, always having an answer to my never ending questions and suggestions to help me. The way she cared for my baby and put me to ease is something I can't describe. I looked forward with relief to the days and nights that I knew Maricar was coming.
